How to Install the Desk Monitoring Application
The Desk Monitoring Application is a great tool to add some automation to your desk check-in experience!
The desk monitoring application is a Windows-based app that enables automated presence detection of users when they're at a desk's location when plugging their computer into a docking station.
The Desk Monitoring Application is compatible with the following Desk types:
- When a user docks at their Booked desk. The application will detect that you have docked into the corresponding desk and automatically Check in the user.
- When a user docks at an Agile desk, Space Connect automatically changes the status of the desk to 'Unavailable', ensuring others are able to view the real-time availability of desk space. When a user undocks, the desk is made available again for other users to occupy.
- When a Fixed Desk user docks into their assigned desk, they will be checked in automatically and will be visible in the Locate me map.
To install the desk monitoring application, log in to the admin portal and navigate your way to the location you need. Select the level and then manage desks. Once in manage desk, select the desk you need to add the desk monitor to and press 'Edit'
Now you are on the edit screen you need to add the MAC Address of the Docking station to the Desk Device Connection section.

Once the application is downloaded, find it within your desktop folder and then click through the folder to run the application.
If you're installing a newer version of the app, you will need to uninstall the old version first. Once downloaded, open up the "DeskMonitorSetup.exe" file and follow the installation steps below.
The user will need to log in and authenticate so the desktop monitor "knows" who is using the device. Ensure you run the application, either from the desktop icon or the start menu, and the user will be prompted to authenticate. When the application starts running, it will ask to make changes to your computer, which we advise 'Yes' or the application will not run.
