Panel Setup - Android Panels

SpaceConnect provides a tablet application (iOS or Android) that can be installed on tablets for use as meeting room panels.  These are located next to the entrance of a meeting room and show the current status, and allow users to checkin, make ad-hoc bookings, and generally make it easier to mange rooms.

Step 1: Install application

The application can be downloaded from the Playstore here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.spaceconnect.apppanel.  Alternatively search for "Space Connect Panel"

The application can be downloaded from the Apple Appstore here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/space-connect-panel/id1397378726

Step 2: Login to SpaceConnect App

Once the panel has loaded, select the Space Connect app icon from the home screen.  Space Connect will load and display a login screen.

Login to the panel using your system administrator details.

Microsoft accounts: Enter the email address of an administrator and select the login button.
G-Suite accounts: Enter the email address of the room booking account you created and select the login button.

Either your Microsoft or Google authentication page will display. Complete your credential information to login. You will be redirected back to the SpaceConnect app.

Step 3: Select Location / Level / Room

The "Location" page will display. Select the location you are setting up for the meeting room panel.
The "Level" page will display. Select the level you are setting up for the meeting room panel.
The "Room" page will display. Select the room you are setting up for the meeting room panel.

Step 4: Select layout

The "Layout" page will display. Select the layout you would like for your meeting room panel.
We recommend selecting "Classic Layout" for generic devices, but you can try the different formats to see what works best for you (Changing layout means re-running the setup wizard).

Step 5: Select hardware

The "Hardware" page will display. Select the option for "Mobile Tablet - No LED Enclosure" by swiping left or selecting the right arrow button.

Step 6: Settings

The "Settings" page will display.  Apply the settings that you require.

  • Mask Meeting Titles
When enabled, the meeting titles will be displayed as "Reserved" rather than showing the meeting subject.
  • Hide Meeting Attendees
When enabled, the names of people invited to the meeting will be hidden.
  • Hide "Book This Room" Function
When enabled, users will be unable to book the room via the tablet application.  Therefore bookings must be made through the mobile app, outlook addin, or directly via Outlook Exchange / G-suite.
  • Display Status Only
When enabled, the action buttons (Book, Check-in, Extend) are not displayed to the user so any extensions must be handled through the mobile app, outlook addin, or directly via Outlook Exchange / G-suite.

Step 7 - Complete

Click the "COMPLETE ROOM SETUP" button and the panel will refresh and display the room availability along with any options you have enabled, such as "Book now" button.

Note: The visual styling of the panel application can be configured to display a background image and company logo.  These are configured in the SpaceConnect admin portal under Configuration > Room Settings.
